    Description

Very rare and original CDV of Edwin Perrin and a Native American from one of the Pueblo tribes. Perrin is holding a rifle, the Native American man a Colt
revolver in one hand and bow and arrow. He is wearing an eagle feather bonnet.
Probably taken in New Mexico around 1862, and published here by E & H.T. Anthony.
The writing on the back in pencil says, " E.O. Perrin & Indian guide through New Mexico, followed by the guide's name... A-sa-wah-sa-ke.. rest is hard to make out, but there's enough there to definitely ID him at some point.
Perrin was sent to the southwest by the Secretary of State to help arm Civil War troops in that region. An excellent image.. very hard to find; others I've seen
have been clipped, poor contrast, blank backs, etc.
4" x 2.5" with Anthony's imprint. Very good antique condition overall.. light staining in the lower-left corner is the biggest issue, with a couple of small
wrinkles.. my scans should show condition well.
