Description

This is an original antique photo dating to the 1870s. It is from Elmwood, Peoria County, Illinois, and was taken in the David Mendenhall studio. He was born in Ohio in 1836, and moved to Fulton County, Illinois before 1850. He lived in Farmington, Illinois, in 1870, by which time he was already a photographer, and then moved to Elmwood. CDVs from his studio are scarce. This one features an unknown woman with curly hair. The image is a bit faded, and the photo is not as stiff as I'm used to seeing CDVs - it has a fair amount of "play." I've protected it in a clear acid-free sleeve, and will package it carefully before shipping. This would make a great gift for that Peoria County collector that you know!Free local pickup is available in the far western suburbs of Chicago. Shipped with USPS First Class. A tracking number will be provided. I will ship the photo with a piece of rigid cardboard so it will not bend in transit. Happy bidding!
