    Description

    Beware of cheaper, inferior UHMW material being passed off as PTFE to save on cost.  These chips are guaranteed high quality PTFE (Teflon) material made here in the United States.
    Often called mast chips, these discs will mold to the shape of the mast ball the first time the mast is stepped.
    Older boats do not have the "chip keeper" feature of the newer mast base casting.  Without this feature, the chip will often squish out of the base, requiring a re-adjustment to the chip, or a new chip to be installed.   Instructions will be provided in order to modify your base to closely match the design of the newer castings, as well as alignment tips that I've been using in order to ensure that the chip always stays centered, and won't squish out again.
