DESCRIPTION
:
This auction features a vintage Chinese
cloisonne
floral bead necklace.  This bears a total of 40 enamel beads, with hand-knotting seen in between each bead.  This is set on a thick, white fabric thread end to end. The clasp is a push-in style gold-tone metal piece, but does not appear to have any names or maker's marks noted on it.
In viewing the beads under a magnifying glass or loupe, there appears to be a
recurring
pattern of flowers and stems. The background enamel appears to be a brownish red, with accentuating colors in white, turquoise, green, and blue.  The gold wiring used for the cloisonne does give it a definite glint in the light, too.
Although I do feel this necklace has been used and loved in the past, I also feel it has plenty more years of life and use left in it. This necklace appears to be in Fair condition
for the age and use of it
. It does have some minor usage wear seen --
mostly in the form of minor flea bite chips to the enamel beads and some mild tarnishing to the unknown metal
.
Although the flea bites can be seen under close inspection such a magnifying glass or loupe, it does not appear as obvious to the naked eye.  Personally, I do not feel that this should not keep it from being worn, either.  I am unsure as to what type of metal was used for this, but -- since there does appear to be some minor metal tarnishing -- I will also leave any polishing and/or cleaning to the new owner. The push-style clasp does have some minor age "sticking" to it, but does still open and close securely.  I suspect the sticking may have something to do with it not being worn or used in quite a while.
If there is anything I may have missed where the condition is concerned, please feel free to message me and I'll be happy to help. With age and use considered, I would still say this piece rates in Fair condition overall.
AGE/YEAR MADE: Although exact age is unknown, I do believe this necklace is vintage -- and likely made for Chinese export, as well.
