2024 BMW X7 Review Update

2024 BMW X7. The top-of-the-line SUV from Bavarian gets a mid-cycle update. Given that the most of the changes are in the area of design, this appears to be a standard facelift. The BMW X7 will have a new look in 2023, but it won’t be the only change. Additionally, you may anticipate interior novelties as well as improved engine choices that have more power and sport new badging.

Despite the updates, the 2024 BMW X7 will maintain familiar design characteristics. It will remain an SUV that offers a great balance between a smooth ride and compound handling, an SUV that comes with very capable engine options, as well as a beautiful interior that now uses new materials. Despite the changes and updates, the main drawbacks will remain. It basically refers to the cramped third row and small cargo area behind it. The 2024 BMW X7 should hit the market this summer.

2024 BMW X7 Design

Design-wise, this was a typical facelift. The mid-cycle update didn’t make many changes in terms of mechanics. On the other hand, there is a new design with the most notable changes in the front. This part of the car gets a completely new treatment and the new headlights are definitely the biggest change. The new design brings separate units, which is likely to cause great polarization among BMW fans. It is important to mention that the Bavarian automaker plans to implement this design in other models as well.

The rest of the car comes with more subtle changes. Notable is the range of new colors, 14 of them. Therefore, the total palette now includes 40 finishes in width. Along with new colors, the new 2024 BMW X7 also comes with new wheel designs, including optional 23-inch units, the largest ever offered by BMW.

2024 BMW X7 Interior

The 2024 BMW X7 interior also comes with significant updates. Of course, the biggest one is on the dashboard. You can see the same treatment that we saw in the i-series, which means an integrated unit of two large screens. The first is a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, while the second is a 14.9-inch infotainment screen, equipped with the latest infotainment system. You can notice some additional modifications to the dashboard, as well as some novelties in terms of color schemes, materials, and so on.

With that said, the overall cabin design remains the same. It’s still the same SUV, with a 122.2-inch wheelbase, which comes standard with three rows of seats. Of course, the first two rows are very spacious with space, while the front seats provide excellent support and a high level of comfort. On the other hand, the third row is surprisingly narrow for this segment.

The cargo area also provides subpar ratings. You can count on just 12.8 cubic feet behind the third row, plus 48.6 cubic feet of space behind the second row. The total volume goes about 90 cubic feet.

2024 BMW X7 Engines

This update also brings under the hood upgrades. The base xDrive40i now comes with an additional 40 horsepower and 67 lb-ft, so total output rises to 375 horsepower and 397 lb-ft of torque. The name of the M50i has been changed to the M60i. It continues with the same 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, maxing out at 523 horsepower. However, it does get a 48-volt mild hybrid system, which improves fuel efficiency and driving dynamics.

Finally, there’s the Alpina XB7, which also gets a slight power boost. Maximum output now rises to 630bhp, ensuring 0-60 in under four seconds.

2024 BMW X7 M PHEV

We’re still getting reports about the PHEV version of the SUV. Many believe that this version will come with the same system that was introduced in the XM concept. That means a powertrain that combines a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged with an electric motor, for a total of 750 horsepower and 737 pound-feet of torque. By some estimates, this will ensure that you sprint from 0 to 60 in just three seconds.

Along with plenty of power, this version will also come with a decent battery pack, which will ensure around 30 miles of all-electric range. At this point, officials are still quiet about this model.
